Description
Rwanda Imigongo Kalibè is a specialty Arabica coffee from a plantation located in the northern part of the Gakenke district. Its cultivation is managed by a community of around 1200 farmers, mostly women, who carefully and diligently oversee every stage of the production process.
The plantation actively promotes fair and sustainable working conditions, supporting the development of key infrastructure such as schools, housing, and roads. Through these initiatives, it makes a tangible contribution to the well-being of the community.
Coffee is grown on mountainous terrain with very steep slopes, which prevent the use of machinery and require all work to be done by hand. The nutrient-rich soil gives the beans a distinctive mineral complexity, while the unique climate and constant airflow protect the plants from disease and allow the cherries to ripen very slowly.
The result is a coffee with complex and highly enjoyable aromatic notes.
