Etiopia Sidamo Specialty

Sweet specialty coffee with a broad, floral aroma, featuring notes of dried fruit, cocoa, and honey.

This specialty coffee from the Sidamo region of Ethiopia is one of the most authentic and refined expressions of high-quality African coffee. Grown at altitudes between 1.500 and 1.800 meters, it originates in a natural and pristine environment, where coffee thrives within the so-called “coffee gardens,” small plots shaded by fruit trees, spices, tobacco, banana plants, and other wild vegetation.

This agroforestry cultivation system allows coffee plants to develop an extremely complex aromatic profile, enriched by the diverse essences present in the surrounding environment. Rather than large plantations, this coffee is the result of the work of many local families who grow it in their own gardens, in limited quantities and using traditional methods.

Harvesting is carried out strictly by hand, selecting only the ripest cherries. They are then immersed in water to remove unsuitable fruit before undergoing a thorough washing process. Finally, the beans are slowly dried on traditional “African beds,” a method that helps preserve and enhance the coffee’s quality.

The result is a specialty coffee, unique for its elegance and sensory complexity.
